Bill and Sally
Worcester glass artists
It takes a lifetime to perfect the
art of glassblowing. It takes only moments to transform molten glass into
original works of art--before your eyes.
In furnaces we built ourselves, the glass is melted at
temperatures above 2,000 degrees. Gathering the glowing mass onto a hollow rod
and blowing into the glass, we begin to define its shape, spinning the rod
gently. Working against gravity's pull, using handmade tools of wood, steel,
and graphite, we create a vase, bowl, paperweight, or sculpture in which colors
and forms lie suspended, yet flowing.
For
more than 20 years, our family has worked together to create these delicate,
yet enduring works of art, and we have had the honor to win awards throughout
the United States.
